Discover Thuès-Carança

In Thuès-Entre-Valls (the name of the station is Thuès-Carança), discover one of the most remarkable sites of the Conflent, the area of the Pyrénées-Orientales department that shares a border with Andorra. From the station, served by the Yellow Train, you can access the Carança gorges with its large choice of marked trails and hike anywhere from 1 hour to several days. With the rocky outcrops, suspended bridges, footbridges and vertiginous cliffs, the area offers something for everyone.

In Thuès-Carança, you will enjoy:

  • Getting off the Yellow Train to explore the Carança gorges following the cornice that was dug out in 1943, leading to the building site of a tunnel designed to capture water from the river
  • Walking the short circuit to El Fornas (1 hour)
  • Venturing further, to the Carança mountain shelter (8 hours).

Warning: The gorges are impassable in rainy weather. They are not recommended for people with fear of heights and for children under 8.
