At the foot of the Albères mountain range, where the Pyrenees plunge into the Mediterranean Sea, Argelès-sur-Mer is the camping capital of Europe. It boasts a rich natural environment with: 7 kilometres of sandy coastline (from Mas Larrieu Nature Reserve to Le Racou), 3 kilometres of rocky coastline as well as large pine forests. Within sight of the town of Collioure, the resort is very popular during the summer.


Between sea and sky, graced with shaded streets, the village of Argelès has successfully preserved authentic charm. It remains a lively and colourful town with a Catalan touch. Discover its highlights:

  • Hiking up to the Tour de la Massane (13th century tower) for a fantastic view over the Roussillon plain and the Mediterranean coast.
