Located in the heart of the former Carmaux-Albi mining basin, in Cagnac-les-Mines, the Musée-Mine has reopened its doors to the public after 2 years of work.
With its exhibition halls and 300 metres of mine galleries, it recounts the mining epic of a territory attached to its workers’ memory and pays tribute to all the men and women who, over the centuries, have shaped this land. It is also a valuable tool for passing on the history of coal mining in the basin to current generations.
