a veritable hot-water foot bath with relaxing and healing properties
Built in 1672, the Bassin de la Basse is fed by the Basse and Rougeron thermal springs. Formerly covered by a slate roof, it was mainly used by washerwomen to rinse their laundry in 18°C water.
Restored by the commune in 2008, it is now open to the public as a foot bath, like the famous Bassin des Ladres.
Today, tourists are quick to soak their feet in the basin, attributing to it its soothing and healing virtues.
