The Oustal du Viaur is an old farmhouse, recently renovated, on the edge of a small rural hamlet perched above the gorges of Viaur, on the border of Tarn/ Aveyron. Bleuet is our third and last cottage on the complex and will be open for rent on July 18, 2009. Located halfway between the historic departmental towns of Rodez and Albi means easy access to these two fabulous towns that offer wonderful architecture, and disjointed backstreets dozens of cafes and restaurants for every pocket. In the immediate area are a number of Bastides, unique in the south-west of France, Sauveterre, Monestiés, and of course Cordes-sur-Ciel, being some. The area is ideal for walking, biking, painting, birdspotting, flora + fauna, siteseeing, fishing or just relaxing. There are many local activities to cater for children of all ages. The agricultural complex gives a real idea of rural France and is the ideal place for a wind. Fortunately, we are right next to the RN88 (but far enough from not hearing the traffic!) Between Albi and Rodez which means that when you want to hit the shops or head for a cultural excursion, you are soon on your way to one of the many attractions waiting to explore. Located near the Cathar region of the Pays d’Oc the region is rich in history that is waiting to be explored.
