In a meander on the right bank of the Orb, the Department has been involved since the early 1990s in an ambitious project for a leisure centre based on the rehabilitation of gravel pits. A first link of about 6 ha is open to visitors along the river. The Department has restored the banks eroded during the floods of 1995 and 1996, and set up a picnic and relaxation area much appreciated by the population of Biterre and fishermen.
