Perched atop its granite hill, the village of Eus is one of the most beautiful villages in France and also one of the sunniest. Once fortified, it is dominated by its imposing 18th-century church, Saint Vincent Church, built on the site of the old ruined castle. Historically, this former defensive site had to repel the French in the 16th century and the Spanish army in the 18th century. From the church, you can wander the steep cobbled streets and explore the pedestrian lanes of the village. Along the way, you will discover local artisans, artists, and shops that contribute to Eus being one of the Most Beautiful Villages of France. If you follow the hiking trails from Eus, you can also reach the old village of Comes, now in ruins.
