Situata sul sito dell’ex centrale solare Themis, la TSI è una piattaforma di ricerca e sviluppo di nuove tecnologie per la produzione di energia dal sole. Durante le vacanze scolastiche, il sito offre attività ludiche e scientifiche con l’obiettivo di sensibilizzare il pubblico alla transizione energetica e alla comprensione dell’energia solare. Thémis Solaire Innovation (TSI) was established as a result of the Pyrénées-Orientales Department’s desire to restore the site to its original purpose: the development of technologies enabling the production of solar energy. Indeed, it was at this site, situated at an altitude of 1,600 metres, that the world’s first solar tower power station – Thémis – was built and operated between 1979 and 1986.
