The alchemy of rock and water has created a veritable underground cathedral. Buried 70 metres below ground lies a cavity 120 m long, 48 m wide and 50 m high: dimensions similar to Notre-Dame-de-Paris cathedral!

After a 54-meter ascent on Europe’s first underground funicular, you can wander through the galleries to the incredible Cathedral of Wonders, the result of the alchemy of rock and water. With its exceptional acoustics, the cathedral has been the venue for numerous concerts and a Christmas mass for the past 50 years.

It is classified by the French Ministry of the Environment as a National Site, and is also one of Languedoc’s “Sites d’Exception”.

Good to know before you visit: – A 1h15 guided tour – Year-round temperature of 15°C (blankets available) – Accessible to young and old (baby carrier recommended) – 1200m-long trail – Brasserie Glacier – 6min by funicular.
