To sustain their community and maintain the buildings, the nuns of Boulaur have a farm. In their shop, she markets the fruit of their labor but also other monastic products.

The 25 nuns produce on their 27-hectare farm cow cheese: “La Brouette”, pâté, jam, flour and even beer. In addition to their 8 cows, the nuns also raise piglets, chickens, rabbits,… a real farm. They also cultivate the land surrounding their abbey to produce their flour but also grain and hay for their animals. They also have a hectare and a half of orchards and vegetable garden on which they grow all kinds of vegetables and fruits in permaculture: apricots, nectarines, quinces, apples, pears, peaches, plums, Mirabelle plums, kiwis, grapes, and also blackcurrants. , gooseberry, without forgetting the citrus fruits in the greenhouse (lemons, oranges, etc.) subsequently used to make their jams.

Recently the nuns inaugurated their brand new Cistercian barn, in which there is a breeding part, but also the processing workshops…. A guided tour allows you to discover this brand new building. Tours take place every day except Tuesdays, at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Two options exist for the visit, the discovery of the agricultural part of the abbey or the heritage part with the visit of the church, the cloister, the chapter house,…
