The great outdoors and footpaths galore: wherever you are in Occitanie, be it near Toulouse or deep in the Cévennes, you're never far from a good walk. Our region is covered by a network of 40,000km of trails signposted in yellow, green or blue.

A PR® network packed with short hikes

A thousand short hikes in Occitanie

Occitanie is home to over 1000 PR® (Petites Randonnées) trails ranging from easy to challenging and 1 to 7 hours of walking.

The first thing you'll love about our region is how we give nature, country life, our flora and fauna pride of place. Hiking is the perfect way to recharge your batteries, escape the daily grind and give yourself some TLC. And Occitanie is the perfect place to do it with trails in the great outdoors that make your break with us truly special.

Occitanie, hiking heaven

Unspoilt and every-changing natural settings

The Gers valleys or big limestone valleys (causses), Pyrenean forests or the Mediterranean coast: explore a variety of changing landscapes to spice up short hike.

Most of the trails are selected for their natural (flora, fauna, views) or historical interest (heritage, legends, traditions). The paths are well maintained and avoid busy roads, giving pride of place to nature (earth or sand, grass, stone).
