Occitania takes up most of South West France and the region's biggest cities are Toulouse and Montpellier. It is very easy to reach with domestic and international flights. There are also several motorways and railway lines from Paris/Bordeaux/Montpellier/Barcelona.

By plane

10 airports, including 9 international ones, land right in Occitania. The biggest airports are Toulouse-Blagnac (10km from central Toulouse) and Montpellier-Méditerranée (13km from central Montpellier). NB: very frequent daily Paris Orly/Toulouse connections with 1 flight every 30 mins.
Toulouse and Montpellier also have direct connections with several European cities: Berlin, Frankfurt, London, Madrid, Brussels, Amsterdam, Warsaw etc.

A dozen motorways make reaching and exploring the region of Occitania a breeze. They cover the entire region from east to west (Nice / Marseille / Montpellier / Toulouse / Bordeaux routes) and north to south (Paris / Bordeaux / Brive / Clermont-Ferrand / Barcelona routes). The Aragnouet-Biels tunnel and Perthus mountain pass (A9/AP-7 motorway) cross the Franco-Spanish border through the Pyrenees.

By train

SNCF routes take you to Toulouse and Montpellier from most major French and European cities (Madrid, Barcelona, Milan, Brussels, Amsterdam etc.). 2 high-speed railway lines run through Occitania: the Perpignan line to Figueras in Spain and the Mediterranean LGV line. There are several more high-speed railways being planned or built: between Montpellier and Perpignan and Bordeaux and Toulouse.

Travel in the region by train? Nothing could be simpler with the regional IO train lines that crisscross Occitania.

Good idea!
