To the east of the village, the Marchastel bridge, also known as the Bukinkan bridge, spans the Bès River on the Aubrac plateau. Built in the 16th century, it is a must-see for hikers, offering a breathtaking view of the Aubrac’s flora and fauna. Indeed, the waters of the Bès harbor a rare geological phenomenon: peat bogs that form along the riverbanks. In the past, the currents powered mills in the area, from Marchastel to Rieutort d’Aubrac.
