PARC GEORGES CHARPAK

MONTPELLIER , Hérault – Cultural heritage

About

The Parc Georges Charpak, previously known as Parc Marianne, was designed by Michel Desvignes and covers an 8-hectare area in the heart of the Port Marianne district. A reflecting pool links the Parc Charpak with the Bassin Jacques Coeur. The Parc Charpak is constantly evolving and more than 500 trees (white willows, oaks and stone pines) have been planted in the first four hectares, which are crossed by the Lironde. The garden space is made up of numerous terraces and meadows and when its layout has been finalised, it will also contain play areas, furniture, etc. The Montpellier firework display is held in this park on 14 July.
