LAUNAC PARK

About

Launac’s public park boasts some remarkable trees, including two-hundred-year-old cedars, umbrella pines and bald cypresses.

In the 18th century, the park was the grounds of a private mansion, which is now home to the village hall and school. The walk takes you past the old orangery, a small brick building with arcades, where the gardeners used to grow citrus fruit. Another curiosity in the middle of the park is a tiny island surrounded by water, home to bald cypress trees with their surprising aerial roots. Bonus: there are picnic tables, games and benches on site, as well as an inline skating rink for a well-rounded nature break.
