About
The Muséum d’Histoire Naturelle de Perpignan is a French natural history museum housed in a mansion known as the Hôtel called the Hôtel Çagarriga, in Perpignan, in the Pyrénées-Orientales region of France. The core collections come from the cabinet of curiosities created by the University of Perpignan in 1770. The Perpignan Natural History Museum offers a glimpse of the biodiversity and geodiversity of the Pyrénées-Orientales region, right in the heart of the city. Its permanent tour takes you on a scientific walk around coastal ponds, the Pyrenean mountains and the Roussillon plain. The wolf, the bear and the desman are just some of the specimens from our region on display in our showcases. Located in the Çagarriga mansion, which dates back to the 16th century, the Museum offers temporary exhibitions and educational activities throughout the year, making it a place of discovery for everyone.
