About
The museum was essentially constituted of the collections of the bishopric, the major and minor seminaries of Carcassonne, donations from individuals and congregations and purchases from over 50 years. Notre-Dame de l’Abbaye is the oldest place of worship in the city, receiving a visit by Pope Urban II (1042-1099) on the 11th of June 1096, who came to the city to bless the construction of the Cathedral Saint Nazaire.
