Musée Murat
LABASTIDE-MURAT , Lot – Cultural heritage
About
This museum around the Napoleonic epic, the setting of the exceptional destiny of Joachim Murat, King of Naples (1767 – 1815), is one of the rare birthplaces of a Marshal of France who has remained for 200 years in a typical Quercy house. You will discover, in the former family inn, furniture, documents and various objects that belonged to the Princes’ family. The museum exhibits a portrait of Antoinette Murat, the niece of Joachim Murat, wife of the Prince of Hohenzollem-Sigmaringen, through whom the family is allied nowadays with most of the sovereign families of Europe.
