About
The Du Guesclin Museum was opened on the large village square where he died. Learn about the great commander and the period in which he lived from the pieces, models and images on display. In 1380 he came with his troops to besiege the English who held Châteauneuf and its fortress. He died after drinking water that was too cold. The sieges lasted a fortnight and in the end the keys were surrendered to Commander Du Guesclin.
