About
Created in 1993 by the Association pour la Sauvegarde des Métiers du Bois, this museum houses a collection of 110 entrance doors from the 17th to the 20th century in 6 small rooms It presents in a didactic way their technical conception (wood species, assembly) and their decoration: colors, mouldings, sculptures The museum also offers different types of window and shutter joinery, ironwork, knockers, locks and old tools… saved from oblivion and destruction and thus preserved It is the fruit of the work of a passionate carpenter, Compagnon du Devoir et du Tour de France, anxious to transmit a heritage as well as his knowledge and experience. This museum is intended for the general public as well as for professionals: carpenters, ironworkers, architects looking for models for the restoration of old buildings.
