About
Now a grain mill, the mill dates back to 1854 and was originally used to grind gypsum to make plaster and build the houses of Saint-Chinian, which was in the midst of a period of expansion Abandoned in 1900 and left in ruins for many years, the town hall renovated it and turned it into a wheat mill. The new mill was inaugurated on June 22, 2001. It is situated on a promontory and dominates the village, with a magnificent panorama of the vineyards and the Vernazobre valley, with Mount Caroux as a backdrop. It is also the starting point for the “parfum de garrigue” walk to discover the capitelles. In season, the association Les Richesses du Saint-Chinianais offers guided tours to discover this magnificent site
