MONTCLUS , Gard – Cultural heritage

About

Nestled between green hills and valleys, the village of Montclus has managed to maintain its subtle balance between tourist appeal and environmental preservation.

Integrated into the Natura 2000 Garrigues de Lussan area, the village maintains a heightened awareness of its natural riches, with particularly varied fauna and flora. Founded in the 13th century, it retains picturesque traces of its past history, such as the remains of the old troglodyte Benedictine monastery in the place called Les Beaumes, the medieval castle, the Pont du Moulin, to which are added beautiful landscape jewels: the source of the Marnade and its lavender fields, which display all their colors as if to celebrate the arrival of summer. Come and admire its postcard landscape, whose photogenic qualities have already seduced cinema!
