About

Restored in the authentic way, the mills work as they did in the past with their sails offered to the 13 winds … On the site at 417m of altitude, a breathtaking panorama surprises the visitor: a 360° orientation table carved in the stone represents in the south the shore and the sea, then the mountains of the Cevennes in the Pyrenees and in the north the mountains of the Lozère and the Aveyron. The mills of Faugères (grain mills) date from the 16th century and were restored in the 1990s. The working mill uses the original millstones from the time of the Rivière brothers (millers on the site between 1829 and 1849). A tower now serves as a reception area for the Tourist Office in summer. We invite you to freely visit this exceptional site – all year round. Guided tours in season.
