Discovering the Sanctuary of Notre-Dame de Lourdes means entering a historic site full of treasures: The Crypt, accessible via a long corridor covered with votive offerings The Basilica of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception (Upper Basilica), where magnificent stained glass windows tell the story of the Apparitions and the dogma of the Immaculate Conception. The Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary, with its Romanesque-Byzantine architecture, boasts splendid chapels covered in mosaics depicting the Mysteries of the Rosary. The Basilica of Saint Pius X, with its ellipsoidal shape, built entirely underground to mark the centenary of the apparitions, and its 3 sets of stone paintings. The Grotto of Massabielle, the very site of the apparitions, at the heart of which is the spring discovered by Bernadette.
