About
The exceptional site of the Aigues-Mortes salt marsh, nestled between the ramparts of the medieval city and the Mediterranean Sea, is a natural environment that is both wild and unspoilt.
The Aigues-Mortes salt works, located between the sea and the land, are set in an exceptional natural environment. On these ponds, fed by water from the Mediterranean, salt is produced for food and industry, as well as the famous hand-picked fleur de sel. Today, ten salt-makers maintain an ancestral know-how, regulating water currents in response to climatic variations and salt content.
