Lacaze, a small town full of character

LACAZE , Tarn – Cultural heritage

About

This picturesque medieval village nestling in the Gijou valley boasts a castle that once belonged to the powerful Bourbons-Malauze family. Lacaze is also very popular with nature lovers and fishing enthusiasts.

This magnificent little medieval village, listed as a “Petite cité de caractère”, nestles in the Gijou valley in the Monts de Lacaune. Don’t miss out on a guided tour of the castle in summer, or a group visit all year round by prior arrangement.

On the way to Lacaze, we also recommend a short diversions to the “forgotten” hamlet of Camalière and the fortified chapel of St Jean del Frech.
There is also a waterfall at St Michel de Léon.
