The Hotel Saint-Jean or Hotel de Malte, is located on rue de la Dalbade. The Knights Hospitallers of Saint John of Jerusalem settled near the church of La Dalbade, at the end of the 11th century, along a major axis of the road from Compostela to Toulouse.

The Knights Hospitallers of Saint John of Jerusalem settled near the church of La Dalbade, at the end of the 11th century, along a major axis of the road from Compostela to Toulouse. Their main function was to ensure the protection of passing pilgrims. The Grand priory was rebuilt by Pierre Rivalz, an architect from Toulouse, between 1668 and 1680 and displays its majestic facade bearing the arms of the Order of Malta. Admirably restored, this masterpiece of classicism is now home to the offices of the DRAC, the General Directorate of Cultural Affairs.
