Museum of Old Trades

SAINT-SULPICE , Tarn – Cultural heritage

About

A permanent exhibition showcasing the tools and trades of yesteryear that made Saint-Sulpice famous in the 19th century.

Come discover Saint-Sulpice’s rich industrial past through the many tools and machines on display on the garden level of the tourist office.
These are the trades of our ancestors—many have disappeared, others have changed, and some are kept alive by a handful of dedicated enthusiasts. Come discover them!
You’ll discover a beautiful collection of tools from the old trades of yesteryear—evoking woodworking, ironworking, and copperworking—as well as old photographs, a magnificent barbershop, and an archaeology section…
One section is dedicated to Armand Guibert, tracing his life and works. A renowned translator, poet, writer, and essayist, he was born in Azas in 1906 and died in St. Sulpice in 1990.
