The Saint-Sabin Church is located in the municipality of Blanquefort.
This church, dating from the 18th century is built in brick with a porch bell tower.
Inside the current church, we find different objects inscribed on the Supplementary Inventory of Historical Monuments: the high altar, Tabernacle, Baldaquin and counter altar, in marble, dated from the end of the 18th century.
A painting on canvas of the Crucifixion between Saint Therese and Saint John of the Cross is also inscribed on this secondary inventory. It dates from 1739, painted by Dom Ticier, prior and sacristan. During its restoration, it was noticed that the canvas had been folded at its ends, suggesting that it had originally not been made for this church. It undoubtedly arrived in the 19th century to escape destruction.
A communion table dated from the end of the 18th, beginning of the 19th is also part of this secondary inventory, just like the statue of Saint Teresa of Avila, in carved and painted wood. A carved, engraved silver chalice from the 18th century, a carved silver paten from the 18th century, a silver monstrance from 1798-1809, are also listed on the secondary inventory.
Among the remarkable objects of this church, we can also mention the rare statue of Saint Germaine in carved and painted wood, dating from the 1800s.
The religious heritage of the commune also includes the small rural chapel of the cemetery and some crosses present on Blanquefort, including one, at a place called Lassale, which materializes the location of the old church.
