Eglise Saint-leonce
CORNEILHAN , Hérault – Cultural heritage
About
Saint Léonce, patron saint of the parish, protects the building, which was almost completely rebuilt in 1870. On the Gospel side, it houses the Romanesque chapel dedicated to Sainte Céronne, a young virgin born in Corneilhan around 410 AD.
A striking feature of the church are the murals painted in the 60s by Estonian-born artist Nicolaï Greschny.
Saint Léonce overlooks the village and, from its terrace, a magnificent panorama of the Orb plain unfolds.
