This church dedicated to Saint John the Baptist was built in 1944-1946, by the priest Samaran, after a fire on May 28, 1944, Pentecost Sunday, which devastated the previous church of medieval origin. It is due to the architect René ABADIE from lourd. However, it has kept the old architecture of the bell tower-wall. The origin of the church is very old. It dates back to at least the 12th century when the cadets of Arras came to settle on the land of “Sirèch” belonging to the lord of the doumec Montperlé of Arras. They built a small church for the twenty or so households that made up the new village, which took the name of Sireix.
Inside, there is a beautiful panelled vault. A fresco made in 1946 by a Parisian painter, Mr CREVEL, decorates the chevet. It represents Christ baptized by John the Baptist.
