Eglise Saint Etienne de Boujan
BOUJAN-SUR-LIBRON , Hérault – Cultural heritage
About
The church dedicated to Saint Etienne has had an eventful history: built in the 11th century on the ruins of an earlier Visigothic chapel, it was destroyed, rebuilt in the 13th century, destroyed again and rebuilt in the 14th century in Gothic style. All that remains of the Romanesque church is a capital and a column of Saint-Pons marble. The bell tower was completed in the 17th century: the keystone at the top bears the date 1666.
