First mentioned in 972, the church is decorated with frescoes by Estonian artist Nicolas Greshny dating from 1950. The artist used Byzantine techniques, applying natural ochre pigments to the still-fresh plaster. The frescoes depict scenes from the Old Testament and the life of Saint Roch. His work will provoke and fascinate you, inciting you to travel and meditate. The beauty of the icons and the powerful colors compel contemplation.
