Household waste treatment and recovery centre.

Household waste treatment and recovery centre, perfectly inserted in a 100,000m² space, with part of the installations buried 15m underground. Monthly visit open to the public, possibility of visits on request for groups on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. The Econotre waste recovery and treatment centre was commissioned in 2001 as part of a Public Service Delegation to address the waste management needs of the Decoset Mixed Association (see Decoset article), grouping together 158 municipalities from the north of Haute-Garonne. A true multi-sector hub, Econotre, a subsidiary of SITA France (SUEZ Environnement urban cleaning centre) manages at the Bessières site the activities of the various waste recovery and treatment facilities, including: • An energy recovery unit for household and similar waste, • A recovery unit for clinker, • A sorting centre for recyclable waste from various collection points. Econotre is also a mandatee of the green waste composting centre in Léguevin and the transfer centres of L’Union, Colomiers, Grenade and Belberaud. With the growth of industrial tourism, Econotre is delighted to receive numerous visit requests from groups in addition to monthly public visits grouping together individual requests.

Visites : Individuals can only visit once a month (the company will inform you in advance of the dates set for the visit). Visits are scheduled at 2pm.
