Chateau Vargoz
SERIGNAN , Hérault – Cultural heritage
About
Château Vargoz is a 19th-century bourgeois property. It belonged successively to the Lamotte, Gautier, Gély and Ollié-Mignard families, before being acquired by the commune from Jean Vargoz and Berthe Espinadel. It was to house the village girls’ school, and later the leisure center and associations. Sérignan decided to transform this ageing heritage into an artists’ residence, dedicated to showcasing contemporary art. Cultural and artistic projects are offered throughout the year. And breakfasts are offered in the studios, where all the artists offer tours.
