About
The Château d’Assas was built during the 1750s and 1760s, probably by Jean-Antoine Giral, an architect from Montpellier who designed the Amphithéâtre d’Anatomie. Some elements (wrought iron balconies) came from the Château de la Mosson. The fortified outer wall, flanked by round towers, dates from the end of the 16th century.
