About

Located at the foot of the Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges Cathedral, the Saint-Just de Valcabrère Basilica is a masterpiece of Roman art (12th Century).

Near Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges, this Roman 12th Century church is one of the most beautiful churches in the Pyrenees and was built with numerous reused Gallo-Roman sculpted elements. It has a beautiful sculpted door and a square bell tower from the 14th Century. Situated on several routes to Compostela (Piedmont’s Way, Via Garona) the Saint-Just Basilica has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1998 as part of the roads to Santiago de Compostela. Walking a few hundred meters, don’t miss the viewpoint that embraces the Basilica of St. Just and the Cathedral of St. Mary.
