The former Couvent des Cordeliers, a monastery now converted into a municipal hall, was founded by Franciscan monks in 1259 outside the walls of the medieval city. The building features a remarkable indoor staircase.
The former cloister, which is partially private property, can be seen from Place Jean David. In the summertime, a restaurant terrace is set up there.
The former church of les Cordeliers, which remained the second-largest of the city after the cathedral until the Revolution, was converted into a bank and then a nightclub before becoming a restaurant.
Tours are on offer as part of “Laissez-vous conter le Grand Auch”.
