LA FERME D’OULAN BAT – CAMP DE YOURTES

About

Near the Ulan Bat farm, three 4 – 6 person yurts are available for camping. Inspired by traditional yurts but which have been adapted to the Pyrenean climate.

Situated in the foothills of the Pyrenees opposite the Paloumère mountain range, the Oulan Bât farm enjoys a quiet, unspoilt location.

The camp is made up of two 30m² yurts, known as ‘family’ yurts, with a capacity of 4/6 people, and a small 18m² yurt for 2/3 people, more suitable for a couple. Like traditional Mongolian yurts, this is a family home with a single room. The only openings are the front door and the toono (skylight at the top). A great opportunity to sleep with your head in the stars!
The overnight stay includes :
– Yurt hire,
– Sheets and towels,
Optional: evening meal and breakfast

In each yurt you will find
– Bedding with blankets and pillows (2 sofa beds for 2 people and 1 bunk bed (2 single beds) in the two largest tents and a double bed (with the option of an extra bed) for the smallest yurt),
– A table and chairs,
– A “cooking area” with a small fridge and a buffet including crockery,
The 4/6-person yurt, closest to the toilet block, is specially equipped for families with a cot and high chair, and for people with reduced mobility.

Outside each yurt is a terrace:
– A wooden picnic table with a large parasol,
– A sink,
– A gas hob,
– Two deckchairs.

A few steps from the yurts, a sanitary room equipped with :
– A sink and two washbasins,
– A private shower and dry toilet in each yurt,
– Among the 3 areas, a “family room” that meets “disability” standards comprises a shower, a dry toilet, a washbasin and a changing table.

Céline and Nicolas, donkey breeders from the Pyrenees, have created a warm and comfortable space for you on their farm, which has been awarded the “Bienvenue à la ferme” label and is listed in the Guide du Routard.

Staying with Céline and Nicolas is also an opportunity to discover the farm’s delicious produce! Their table d’hôtes, like their other activities, is representative of their values, respect for their guests and the pleasure of entertaining. The meals on offer are entirely home-cooked, using mainly fresh, seasonal, organic produce, much of it grown on their farm or nearby. Céline, in charge of the stoves, invites you to discover the taste of a simple but generous cuisine!

How about a donkey trek to discover the Pyrenees? With their Pyrenean donkey farm, Nicolas and Céline can offer you day hikes with a donkey, roaming options in the surrounding mountains, and holidays in the great outdoors in the Arbas valley!

Bivouac :
15€/animal, in an electrified grass paddock with additional hay and water,
Free for the traveller. Bivouac area next to the paddock by the river with access to dry toilets (table d’hôtes option).

Comfort :
4€/donkey or 6€/horse, in an electrified grass paddock with additional hay and water.
Half-board accommodation in the yurt camp: €71/person in low season and €79 in high season.
