The Domaine de Sainte Lucie is located in the heart of the Ile de Sainte Lucie, in a protected area (PNR, site of the Conservatoire du littoral) on the banks of the Canal de la Robine linking the center of Narbonne to Port-La Nouvelle. Visitors to the Domaine can only access it by gentle means, on foot or by bicycle, via the island or the towpath on the left bank (Euro vélo8).
Built progressively from the 17th century, this estate was once a convent, property of the archbishops of Narbonne, then an important farm and finally a hunting lodge.

The refuge was conceived as an accommodation in an isolated site offering different conditions of reception than the classic hotel business.
It has a small capacity (30 people), with short stays (one to two nights with the possibility of half-board) and a catering service reserved for guests of the refuge: dinner and breakfast.
The refuge has only energy produced by solar panels; savings are therefore required: the collective dormitories are not heated, the sanitary facilities are shared and water is saved, as is the electricity used to heat it.

The coastal refuge is like a mountain refuge, its ethics resides in the sharing of experiences: the evening meal taken collectively on large shared tables allows to communicate and thus to live an important conviviality to leave with a unique memory of the refuge. Accessible uniquement à pied ou à vélo, (3km depuis le parking de la maison éclusière de Port-La Nouvelle) ou directement par le bac à chaines depuis l’EuroVelo 8, le refuge est un lieu de passage privilégié pour les randonneurs et cyclistes. Il est situé sur l’île de Sainte-Lucie, au coeur des étangs de la Narbonnaise, dans une zone classée au sein du Parc Naturel Régional de la Narbonnaise en Méditerranée. Propriété du Conservatoire du littoral, ce site est un modèle d’écotourisme.
