Montgach

CASTELNAU-DE-MONTMIRAL , Tarn – Rental accommodation

About

At your feet, the oldest vineyard in France, and behind you a forest steeped in history.

On the edge of the Grésigne forest, in an old stone house, at the very end of the path, which plunges into the woods, crosses the stream before heading up the valley on the other side. At Mongach, you’ll enjoy a pleasant stay in the peace and quiet, with the chance to spot hinds, roe deer and stags. Close to Puycelsi, Bruniquel and Penne, on the “Bastides Albigeoises” circuit. Albi and its famous Episcopal City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, are just thirty kilometres away. Nearby, you’ll discover the villages of Castelnau de Montmiral with its famous arcades, the Aveyron Gorges, and Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val with its typical Sunday morning market. You can also discover the joys of river canoeing. The owners will be delighted to give you tips on the best winegrowers in the Gaillac region.

Montgach is a completely independent guest house, set on a hillside overlooking the Gaillac vineyards and the Albigensian plain. On a clear day, the view extends as far as the Montagne Noire and the Monts de Lacaune. The access road, surrounding woods and fields, and the edge of the Grésigne are all there for you to enjoy. The guest house is a restored 19th century traditional farmhouse. Ground floor: living room opening onto the kitchen, wc. First floor: three bedrooms, bathroom, wc. Fireplace with wood burner. Traditional cot. Sheets available for hire, cleaning service at the end of your stay.
