Le Roudou
VAOUR , Tarn – Rental accommodation
About
Le Roudou stands on the edge of the forest, at an altitude of 400 m on the Vaour plateau, overlooking the vineyards and the Gaillac plain in the distance.
Between the Aveyron Gorges and the Gaillac vineyards lies the Grésigne forest, a vast, undulating wooded dome surrounded by limestone plateaus on which defensive fortresses and hanging villages (Puycelci, Penne, Bruniquel) have been built. On the edge of the Grésigne forest, on a beautiful lawn, owner Robert Raucoules has set up a cute little guest house. A stay at Le Roudou will give you the chance to discover the Bastides albigeoises, meet the winegrowers of the Gaillacois and their age-old know-how, not forgetting the walks and hikes in the forest to discover the remains of the oppidum or the traces of the past activities of the glassmakers and charcoal burners. In autumn, don’t miss the stag roaring season and the famous porcini mushrooms growing under the oak trees.
A small, independent nest for two, set in a large garden with a pretty lawn, close to the owner’s house. Panoramic view over the Gaillac plain and the Grésigne forest. Guest house on one level, comprising living room with open-plan kitchen, bedroom (double bed), shower room with WC. Electric heating.
