A large characterful gîte at the end of a forest road, ideal for gathering with family and enjoying the peace, forests and altitude of the Haut-Languedoc.

At an altitude of 850 metres, at the gateway to the Sidobre and in the heart of the Haut-Languedoc Regional Natural Park, La Ginestière is reached via a winding road through forests, streams and small villages. The arrival gives the impression of reaching the end of the world. Nearby, Lake Raviège invites you to enjoy swimming and water activities. The surrounding forest paths are perfect for walks, cosy evenings by the fire or seasonal foraging. An ideal place to recharge together.

On site, the setting immediately invites relaxation: a stream below, wooded mountains all around and, at times, deer venturing into the nearby meadows. The estate brings together two independent character cottages, awarded the Panda and “Art de Vivre” labels. Set in buildings over two centuries old, they were restored by Cécile and Olivier, highlighting local stone and wood. In this large cottage, the arches of the former barn, dating from 1804, are particularly noteworthy.

The ground floor features a spacious and welcoming living area with a lounge and wood-burning stove (wood provided), a dining area and a fully equipped open-plan kitchen for a comfortable stay (filter coffee maker and Senseo machine). On this level, there is also a double bedroom with a 140×190 cm bed, opening onto a terrace, with its own private shower room.

On the garden level, the cottage offers two additional bedrooms:
– One bedroom with a 140×190 cm bed and a 90×190 cm bed
– One bedroom with three 90×190 cm beds that can be arranged as a double

There is also a games room with a library and table football, as well as a bathroom and a separate toilet.

Outside, you can enjoy a covered terrace, a pleasant garden and several family-friendly facilities: swing set, pétanque court and table tennis.
