Gîte for 4 people, close to the city centre. Fully equipped kitchen, nice shower room, well-kept garden. Bed linen and towels provided and changed weekly. A few steps between the street and the garden. 3* with the Tourist Office.

Our comfortable cottage is set in a beautiful enclosed garden with a lockable private entrance and adjacent on-street parking. Just a few steps from local farmers’ markets, restaurants and lovely mountain walks. A 10-minute drive will take you to a beautiful mountain lake for swimming and relaxation. Close to the railway station and four airports: Toulouse, Castres, Béziers and Carcassonne. Good road and public-transport links to other cultural towns of Occitanie for visiting museums, galleries, sights and shopping.

LIVING SPACE:
The cottage is a 19th-century, two-bedroom property for four guests, equipped with air conditioning and rated 3 stars by the local tourist office. The bedrooms are next to each other: You must pass through the twin room to reach the double room, or use the patio doors that open onto the garden (ideal for summer nights). The cottage has a large shower room, a spacious comfortable lounge and a separate well-equipped kitchen. All rooms face south-east and have shutters and French doors opening onto a well-kept garden with lockable access from the street.

GARDEN & WILDLIFE:
The organic garden is very sunny, with shaded areas for summer, and is planted with flowering plants and culinary herbs. Various birds nest here every year and we enjoy the charming company of small harmless lizards.

LOCATION:
The Wisteria cottage’s in-town location is unique: a 5-minute walk to Mazamet’s amenities and a 5-minute walk to the beautiful walks of the Montagne Noire national park and the Passerelle (a pedestrian footbridge).

GUEST ACCESS:
Guests have private access to the entire cottage garden. It is not shared. There is also a lockable gate giving access to the private garden from the street. Although the cottage is on one level, there are 9 steps up from the garden to street level. Parking for cars, motorcycles or mountain-bike trailers is on the street or in nearby public car parks. You may bring bikes into the garden, but remember there are 9 steps between the garden and the street!

OTHER REMARKS:
We are close to some southern stages of the Tour de France—check the dates if you are a cycling fan! The Wisteria cottage is very near many cultural and historic centres presented on our website. If you are interested in medieval history, you’re in the right place: we are surrounded by castles, beautiful cathedrals and medieval towns and villages. Major cultural centres—Toulouse, Carcassonne, Albi, Castres and Béziers—are all about an hour’s drive from the cottage, making it easy to explore the region. Come and discover this relatively undiscovered corner of France!
