This beautifully renovated former stagecoach inn, built in the traditional local style, is located in the small mountain village of Mérens-les-Vals. “Le Cabanat” primarily—though not exclusively—welcomes families of up to 15 people or groups of friends for vacations, leisure activities, or business meetings. Ideal for hosting family gatherings, the ground floor of the building features a large living-dining room (70 m²) with a fireplace and an adjoining, fully equipped kitchen (20 m²) featuring a range with a 115-liter oven. In the living room, a large extendable table that can be adjusted from 1.60 m to 3.60 m promises moments of togetherness by the fire, whether enjoying raclette or playing a board game. This cozy house features three fully equipped and independent apartments: – On the 1st floor: – Le Desman (one-bedroom apartment for 2 to 4 people), bathroom with a hydromassage shower. Separate toilet. – L’Hélice Ariégeoise (two-bedroom apartment for 5 people), bathroom with a bathtub. Separate toilet. – On the 2nd floor: – Le Panicaut de Bourgat (two-bedroom apartment for 4 to 6 people), bathroom with double sinks. Separate toilet. Ground floor: Spacious entry hall. Ski room, with boot dryer and heated lockers, shared by all 3 apartments. Free Wi-Fi. No smoking indoors. Pets not allowed. Maximum capacity: 15 people (adults + children). Visitor’s tax is extra (rate varies depending on family composition). First fire free; additional firewood is €75 per m³. Outside of school holidays, short stays and weekend rentals are available upon request. The price does not include: electricity (beyond the basic electricity package) or the security deposit. Exterior description: fenced-in yard with patio furniture and a barbecue, located along the roadside. Shops and services: On-site grocery store during the summer season – All shops and services in Ax-Les-Thermes, 8 km away. SNCF train station (direct Paris–Barcelona line) 300 m away. Buses to Ax-Les-Thermes and Andorra available on-site. Local activities: starting point for numerous hikes (GR10 and GR107), natural hot springs a 10-minute walk from the top of the village, Romanesque church, fishing, summer swimming pool, and tennis in Ax-Les-Thermes. Spa town and cable car 8 km away; Andorra 24 km away. Nearby winter sports resorts include the Ax Valleys (Beille, Le Chioula), Bonascre (and Ascou-Pailhère), and Andorra.
