This beautifully renovated former stagecoach inn, built in the traditional regional style, is located in the small mountain village of Mérens-les-Vals, along the national highway leading to Ariège. The owners, who are passionate about the mountains, have skillfully combined traditional materials with more contemporary ones to recreate a mountain atmosphere. This cozy house features three apartments, including “L’Hélice Ariégeoise” (with a mountain chalet feel), located on the first floor. Ground floor: Spacious entry hall. Ski room with boot dryer and heated lockers shared by all three apartments. On the first floor, a spacious apartment featuring a beautiful living area that includes a sitting area with a flat-screen TV and a fully equipped open kitchen. In the same room, a living area with a decorative fireplace. Two bedrooms: the first with a 160-size bed, the second with a 140-size bed and a 90-size bed. Bathroom with sink and bathtub; separate toilet. Sheet rental available as an option. Free Wi-Fi. No smoking inside the house. Pets not allowed. Exterior description: fenced-in yard with patio furniture and a barbecue, located along the roadside (vehicles not permitted in the yard). The price does not include: electricity (beyond the basic electricity allowance: 45 kWh/day in winter and 15 kWh/day in summer), the tourist tax, the security deposit, or the cleaning deposit. Shops and services: Grocery store in the village—all shops and services in Ax-Les-Thermes, 8 km away. SNCF train station (direct Paris-Barcelona line) 300 m away. Buses to Ax-Les-Thermes and Andorra available on-site. Local Activities: Starting point for numerous hikes (GR10 and GR107); natural hot springs a 10-minute walk from the top of the village; Romanesque church; fishing; summer swimming pool and tennis courts in Ax-Les-Thermes. Spa resort and cable car 8 km away; Andorra 24 km away. Nearby winter sports resorts in the Ax Valleys (Beille, Le Chioula, Bonascre, and Ascou-Pailhère) and Andorra.
