SITE D’ESCALADE DES BASSELS

The Bassels climbing area is a beautiful site equipped for sport climbing. Because of the long approach walk, this site remains wild and isolated. Les Bassels has 27 sport climbing routes ranging from 4 to 6b+, including 12 two-pitch routes with an intermediate belay. Most of the routes are rated in the 6s, but there is a good variety of routes in the 5s too. The site also features an adventure route requiring special equipment (friends, belayers). The site faces west and enjoys afternoon sunshine. The routes are up to 30-35 meters, so a minimum 70-meter rope is required. The foot of the routes is comfortable, but because of the long approach walk, this site is not recommended for children and beginners.
