About
The La Catalane olive oil mill collects olives from all over the department, as provided for in its cooperative status since 1943. It perpetuates an artisanal tradition of harvesting and producing Mediterranean olive oil. The cooperative produces a highly aromatic first cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil. The tour includes an exhibition of old equipment retracing the history of olive growing and the olive tree since ancient times. Our oil production focuses mainly on the varieties endemic to our department: Olivière, Verdale, Glory, Courbeil, Argoudeil, Redouneil, Berdaneil and Poumal, as well as the old garrigue varieties. The tour ends with a free tasting of our produce.
