In the pretty wine village of Montpeyroux, Mas d’Amile is one of the smaller and newer wineries. Following hand-picking by family, the vinification is traditional. The wine is pressed by foot in a ratchet press and partially aged in oak barrels. The vineyard is not to be missed for its old Carignan vines facing due south with a great view of the Hérault Valley. From this small block and propitious situation result an inviting wine, a wine full of stories wrapped in a beautiful pink label, which appeals to both men and women. Today the estate’s range of wines comprises a Languedoc-Montpeyroux AOP, a Terrasses du Larzac AOP, an old vine Carignan, a Terret Blanc and a gourmet rosé. The small winery only opens its doors for wine tasting by appointment (Tel. +33(0)6 0332 7578).
