Domaine Saint Julien
CASTELNAU-MONTRATIER , Lot
About
This estate has been progressively built up over the past twenty years on land which used to be planted with vines last century. Its name is linked to the “Pech” (hill) over which most of the vineyard extends. On the site of a former parish which no longer exists, its church dedicated to St. Julien was sold as “national property” at the time of the Revolution. On the estate’s 7 hectares, the Cabernet, Cot, Merlot, Gamay and Tannat varieties are grown in soil typical of the area: ochre-red calcareous clays which are shallow and very stony, providing ideal conditions for the production of high-quality wine. All the stages and procedures necessary for making our wines take place on the estate (wine-making, bottling, packaging….)
